The Past, Pies and Peas

Year 3 thoroughly enjoyed our Wigan themed week and had a great time learning about the history of food in Wigan. We taste tested some traditional Wigan pies and researched them to gather our ideas. Then we designed our own pies to make sure they would meet the brief of being a traditional Wigan pie to serve at our ‘fabulous finish’. The fun part came when we had to make our own pies, with a choice of meat and potato filling, or cheese and onion. The pies looked and smelled amazing once they came out of the oven.
