5.4.2020: Easter!
Hi Year 2!
I hope you are all ok and enjoying the lovely, Spring weather. I have put together some ideas and activities for you to be doing over the holidays and after the holidays too.
Stories to Share!

Parents: I have found a lovely story for you to share with your children, again to help them to understand the school closures. Please read it to them. There are two different stories. One is if your children are staying at home and one if you or your partner are a key worker. It may also support them with understanding why they can’t see other family members that I’m sure they’re missing lots.
Stay at Home Superheroes – Story for children staying at home
Stay at School Superheroes – Story for children of key workers
I really enjoyed reading them and hope that they help your children to understand a little more, what is happening in the world. π
Reading Continued…Β

It is still so important for your child to be reading every day.
“Reading can take you places that you have never been before.” Dr. Seuss.
Here is a great website to find different books to read.
https://www.booksfortopics.com/easter
I will add more books to Purple Mash for your child to read too. If you are unsure of the log in, please contact us via Facebook Messenger.
Here is a reading comprehension for your child to complete. You can let them complete it independently orΒ do it together. :).
Maths!

Please continue to practise times tables using Times Tables Rockstars and Hit the Button! Again, if you need a log in, please get in touch.
White Rose Maths Hub will continue to upload home learning activities at: https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-2/
However, please do not worry about teaching new concepts, but feel free to let the children watch the videos and have a go at the activities.
Measurement is a new focus so this is something that you will be able to complete at home, and the children have already done some work on this in school during Wigan Week! Other strands of Maths including time and money are something that you can get your child to practise at home too!
Here is a grid of Maths ideas:
English!

At the bottom of this post I have posted the Home Learning Log – Easter Activities. This has some English ideas on it, but this website is brilliant for different activities including: reading, writing, spelling, maths and lots more. There are far more on there than I could post so I have just put a couple of samples below.

Stay Home! Stay Safe!

That is all for now, I’m sure you have got plenty of things to be getting on with. I can’t wait to see all of the pictures of you doing Easter things, so please send them to the school’s Facebook Messenger. Stay home and stay safe.
See you all really soon,
