– Lest We Forget –
11.11
To commemorate Remembrance Day, Reception Class have taken part in lots of activities throughout the day.
Firstly, we watched the following video which beautifully displayed the meaning of the poppies to our young children. https://youtu.be/pv_ub7Be7oA
Next, we made some poppy design biscuits and our very own poppy badges – we will wear them to remember them. To finish, we joined the whole school in observing a 2 minute silence.
Then we had a video call with Kingsman Fields, he very kindly answered our questions and shared lots of his stories of his time in the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment. He also shared some of his equipment with us, including medals! We feel so honoured and privileged to have had these first hand experiences. A huge Reception and St. Catharine’s THANK YOU to Kingsman Fields.

We are so proud of our children and the great respect and understanding they have shown today. They are a real credit to you!
