Hi Reception Class!
I hope you have all had a wonderful Easter break, we have been so lucky to have had such lovely weather. I hope you have enjoyed it in the safety of your own gardens at home! We are now entering the penultimate term in Reception, which is Summer One!
In Summer One, we focus on our writing skills and securing our numbers to 20 and beyond. I expect the majority of children now should be able to: write their own names, read and write simple 3 letter words such as, mat, sad and sit, count to 20 and beginning to count beyond 20, recognise 2D shapes and have an awareness of 3D shapes, independently dress themselves and use the toilet confidently, including wiping on their own! As Summer term is the time we really try to get the children as Year One ready as possible! Do not worry, as these things you can focus on fully at home.
This week we are doing things a little differently in terms of our home learning challenges, but I think you will find it much easier to follow, and it will add more structure to the learning you have been doing already! Below is an overview of the learning for Summer One, with subheadings of Reading, Writing and Maths, Here you will find a focus activity for each subject, next you will see a ‘Home Learning Log’ which will include our WOW activities, practical activities that link to our curriculum that children will find fun and exciting.
As always, please contact me weekly on DOJO with updates, pictures and any questions you may have!
Miss Brown 🙂
